We recommend citing your sources in Noodletools. If you do not have a Noodletools account or cannot remember your username or password, no worries. Contact your librarians and we can look it up or reset your password.
- Once you are in Noodletools and created a project, choose Sources from the top tab.
- Select New Source.
- Click Website.
- Many options appear. Decide which fits your website. (If you are not sure, the web page option works for most types of web sites.)
- Place information in each box.
URL: Web page address (http://_____)
Date of Publication: The date may appear in a couple of locations. Look for it under the web page title or scroll to the bottom of the page to locate the date. You may only find a year listed - if so, only include the year.
Most Recent Date Accessed: Type today's date.
Contributors: Click on the drop-down for arrows. Most often you will find an author. Include the author's name in the boxes.
If no author, click the trash can.
If more than one author, click Add Contributor.
Web page or document/article title: This is the title of the web page you are using. It is not the name of the entire website.
Name of the website: Enter the name of the website (like CNN or History Today).
Skip Annotation unless you are required to create an annotated bibliography.
Click Save.
